Doğubayazit is a
rough-edged small town in the shadow of Mount Ararat and close to
the Iranian border, with a large Turkish military base on the edge
of town. There
always seems to be a hum of activity in Doğubayazit, even during the slowest times
in the çay evilar (tea houses).
