Weaver - Village of Uraman, western Iran (2008)

In the upper tiers of Uraman's homes, tucked away in a tiny room willed into the cliff, an old Kurdish man works his time-polished wooden loom with bare feet and hands. He is weaving bozo - 4-inch wide "straps" of fabric from fine goat hair. Bozo are used uniquely for the highest quality kowpantol, traditional single piece clothing favored by many Kurdish men in Iran and Iraq.
