Sheikh Hasan's glorious moustache identifies him as a Yezidi Kurd. With a half dozen other men, he is sitting in a park in the al Sulemaniya District of Aleppo, an area where many Kurds live. He is amused and surprised that I know of the two Yezidi "holy books." The conversation, made possible by Ahmud's patient translation, is long, confusing, and entirely delightful.
